Gaeta is story, nature and myth.
With its particular geographical configuration, it has one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Tirrenic sea. It is famous for its seven beaches of fine golden sand, each one complimenting the profile of the coast. In which, they immerse in the fabulous sea sung by Omero and Virgilio, and breaking it up into a one of a kind breath taking scenery with its hills and cliffs.
The historical town of Gaeta
has its original fortress, Castello Angioino-Argonese, which is protected by Monte Orlando: a natural forest reserve. There you can find the mausoleum of Lucio Munazio Planco and a natural grove named the Montagna Spaccata.
The modern city of Gaeta,
which faces the gulf renown by the same name, was constructed by the various historic legends that passed by, yet maintaining its unique Mediterranean architecture.
Because of its particular climate all year round,
and its strategic position towards other historic and artistic interest points, (Rome, Sperlonga, Naples, Pompei, Ercolano, Montecassino, Circeo, Pontine Islands, etc.), Gaeta favors winter tourists attracted by cultural and natural beauty.
